Cord found near Lake Dabrowo (pos. Dąbrówno) (Poland) of the 15th century, buhurt version
The basis for the reconstruction of this blade was the previously published article: Cords and cleats in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and neighboring countries. As well as the article: Cords of the Middle Ages and the New Age from Silesia.
This cord dates from around the second half of the 15th century. He was found near Lake Dabrowo (pos. Pos. Dąbrówno) next to the castle Dabrovo (Polish. Dąbrówno, German. Gilgeburg) in 1898 in the county of Ostroda. Dubrovo is the nearest city to the site of the Battle of Grunwald. It is on his behalf in the Belarusian-Lithuanian annals of 1446 that the Battle of Grunwald is called Dubrovensky. Now the cord is exhibited at the National Museum in Warsaw.
Our version of the cord found near Lake Dabrowo (Poland).
We had to slightly modify the parameters of the set on the handle and the method of assembly, so that the weapon better meets the requirements of combat interactions in modern buhurts. So the guard is made more massive, and the overhang is thickened.
