Katzbalgers swords of the Landsknechts

Katzbalger (German Katzbalger, literally — «koshkoder») — a short landsknecht sword for «cat dumps» (close combat), which had an advantage over daggers. Without a point and with a characteristic handle and guard, worn by all landsknechts as an auxiliary weapon for a pike, halberd, two-handed, arquebus, also worn by officers and artillerymen.

This instance is not a reconstruction of any particular sword. But nevertheless, it bears in itself common features — the short sword of the landsknechts. There is no pronounced point on the click and one long dolly is made. The handle is wrapped in leather.
